My goodness, I do not know where to begin. I wish I could have had access to this course many years ago when my son had his first episode. Our family has struggled for almost 30 years and finally settled into a “stuck” attitude about hope for the future. First of all, the first part of this course hit me square in the head! Through the self-examination and the wonderful extra reading resources, I became aware of the fact that I needed a NEW PERSPECTIVE in dealing with our son. The most important was to pull my hand back and not allow him to hand me his illness. It was as if we both had suffered daily from the same diagnosis. Now I am able to be so much more realistic about his life and ours. Also, we have begun to ask his opinion about his meds, his living situation, his hopes, and goals. Somehow through the years we just assumed that he was not really capable of making those kinds of decisions. Thank you for giving our family a new path for the future. – M.Harris
